We all hear the term ‘stress’ but what is it?
Well, when a person is put under physical or emotional pressure, stress is the way the body responds. How to deal with stress and anxiety may be the opposite of what most of us believe.. This is because stress is not just connected to negative emotions but it is also connected to positive emotions too. When a certain expected or unexpected event occurs that triggers stress, the result is the body releases certain chemicals which are absorbed into the bloodstream.
The good thing is that these chemicals can be used to gain more energy or increase strength. This can be useful if the root of the stress happens to be something physical. However, when a person is dealing with stress that is emotional, this can result in bad things happening to the body and mind. This is due to the fact that the body has no outlet for releasing the additional energy produced. Like it or not, stress features in our lives every day. A person could be at school or work or anywhere else and they will still need to deal with their surroundings. The various types of stress are usually linked or affected by these every day surroundings. And as the body is linked to a persons physical and emotional well being, a connection to the effects will be noticed when stress emerges. And this is why it is crucial to stop the root cause of the stress as it tends to have a knock on effect to other parts of the body which are vital for it to function correctly.

Internal Stress
When a person does not know how to deal with stress and anxiety, they will worry constantly about things that have happen or are about to happen but they have no control over the outcome. This type of stress is one that needs to be dealt with quickly. This source of this stress is usually originating from the mind. This makes it tricky to manage and usually takes more effort to combat. Sometimes, those who suffer with internal stress place themselves (albeit subconsciously) in high stress situations or get stressed over issues that many of us would usually not.
Survival Stress
This is a form of stress that emerges when situations of danger are present. It may be bought on by an attack from another human or animal for instance, or any similar situation where there is potential for harm to a person. So the body releases a boost of energy that has to be used up to react rapidly with regards to the situation at the time to either fight it or run from it.
Environmental Stress
This stress type is the way a body reacts to new situations, change or similar in your normal surroundings that may trigger stress. A good example of this is highly increased levels of noise at work. When compared with the other types already mentioned, this style of stress is a lot easier to deal with. A great route to getting this type of stress controlled is to pinpoint the cause. Once it has been identified, it is a case of avoiding it.
Stress Caused By Work Or Fatigue
This is a common kind of stress and the one seen most often. This style of stress does not emerge immediately; it just keeps building up and up over a period of time. If a person has to spend more and more time at work, or they are asked to handle ever increasing work loads, then after a while the body may react negatively. When dealing with stress caused by work, a person will need to be sure to get a good amount of rest or relaxing time which will allow for the body to recover from the increasing pressures.
Knowing how to deal with stress and anxiety can be the key to unlocking happiness…and it is not that difficult. It just requires the right information and practice.
